Default lower ball joint

I have a 2006 110cc chinook ATV and the lower ball joint separated, can a new one be welded into the a-arm or dpoes the whole a-arm have to be replaced? Where could I get one cheap?

Looking online they look like they are a press fit type joint. Maybe spot welded in a few spots. Looks like they possibly share the same joint as polaris. Just remember if you spot weld it in make it short or your will cook it

I can't see these being pressed in, if so the wall thickness surrounding the ball joint is only 1/16" thick, it looks to me as if the ball joint socket and 2 short solid arms are all a one piece casting and then the 2 arms of the ball joint are welded into the tubing of the a-arm. For the time being I just welded a washer over the stud of the ball joint so the ball cannot pop out anymore but will still allow full motion. The rest of the machine is worn pretty good so I am not interested in putting a lot of money into it. I found one online place that sells the complete a-arm but it would be around $125 by the time it was delivered. The complete atv only cost $350.

The ball joints in those machines are molded right into the a-arm. Depending on the measurements of the a-arm, you can get the complete a-arm with ball joint from $60-$85 with free shipping from ebay. Unfortunately those types of machines don't have a lot of cheap places to get parts. I know because in my area I'm the only place that works on them.

The ball joint is good now that I welded the washer on. Now a new problem, one brake pad fell out and the piston is worn, can a new piston be bought? If not a buddy is a machinist and I will ask him to make a new one on the lathe

check other types of machines they may use similar parts for much cheaper. If you have a young one ridding this are these the areas you really want to cut corners on? I got mine for about $50 and spend quite a bit on it fixing it up and replacing worn parts over the years. Kid loves it so its money well spent
