Default wrong oil plug

well as the title says i pulled the wrong oil drain plug.. I pulled the plug with the spring and ? in it.. Now is their a ball on the end of that spring or something else. All i could find was the spring when it flew out.

This might be the gear indent spring and ball. Does this ATV have a shift lever of sorts? If so, first make sure the ball is no longer in there by using a magnetic tool to pull it out, then move your gear lever, if no ratcheting, then that was it.

I've also seen being part of the chain tensioner.

There is sometimes a little filter/screen that is in that hole. Was it a much larger hole? not a 17mm like the regular drain plug. http://www.scooterpartsexpress.com/i...-S-448x448.jpg

I have done it myself, and am fairly sure it is the cam chain tensioner, and the spring pushes a sort of tubular pushrod. Nothing except the spring and the tubular thing came out when I did this, so I pushed them back in and all was well. There is a posting on here somewhere showing the assembly, as it is quite common for people to mistake that plug for the drain plug.
