Gm R.J.
That last link to the parts manual was spot on. Thank you! It also led me to using those words to search with. I ended up finding a link over on quad crazy. It was the same link you posted at first for the Owners manual. Yep that link didn't work either.
So I got to thinking that at one time it was a good link. So I went over to the the wayback machine. Put in the link you supplied for the owners manual and bam. The way back machine had a good copy of it.
1) Owners manual (check)
2) Parts manual (check)
3) Service manual (still needed)
4) Electrical schematic (still needed)
I am still searching and thanks to you, I know what the heck I am searching for now.
Thanks
Billy

Hey R.J.
Something is not quite rite.
Here is the engine code 172FMM from my picture below which comes back again as a 250cc. I think the engine is some sort of Chinese clone of a true Suzuki GN250.
The owners manual & the parts manual you found has the engine listed as a 178FMM (GN300) in them.
So i am really confused now...

If there is I haven't seen it. Do you have any idea on where to look? What I have in that picture is all I could find.
Their is an engine on ebay. He has it listed under...
(NATIONAL MOTOR BAJA EXTREME 300CC RUNNING ENGINE MOTOR #129)
That motor looks exactly the same as mine. That cat has listed that engine as a 300cc yet it has the 172FMM on it as well ???
lol crazy stuff man!

Somewhere, generally on the left side (nearest in your pic) is a stamped code that should look something like:
172FMM
06035668
Once you find that code, hit google and you should be able to id it fairly easily by searching for either parts or images. Good site on Chinese ATV's (and their engines) here: Chinese Quads - ATVConnection.com ATV Enthusiast Community
the first code (172FMM) tells which engine you've got - for example the above is for a 250cc clone of an old Suzuki engine that looks like yours.
From what I gather, the Chinese engines decode something like:
First digit = 1 = single cylinder
2nd/3rd digit = 72 = bore in mm
letters = I have no idea, something with various versions.
The "brand name" on the side often is meaningless, as there are a zillion different makers / distributors / importers / sellers, and any of them could have named it.
-----
So almost certainly a clone of the Suzuki. That's B/S too if it says Suzuki it should be a true Suzuki. just a tad misleading I think. lol

I am starting to think that the guy I got it from had the right idea. He bought the machine to cut up and turn it into a "drift chopper"!

I would burn up some "home depo 5 gallon buckets" with something like that.
