Default Chinese atv electrical nightmare

I have a older taotao 110. Not sure of exact model. Everything electric is brand new besides brake switch and push button start. Pluged everything in, turned keyswitch and atv cranks over Nd wont stop till shut key off. Maybe ive stressed about this thing for to long and not thinking right, but i am at a loss. I got power to both sides brake switch. I unplug connectors going to brake switch and start button and still cranks with turn key. BTW this atv was given to me by someone who tried fixing it years ago.

Sounds like the wiring is switched between key switch and push button

Still sounds like the wires are crossed somewhere. Maybe shorted or melted in the harness. I'd just look it over.

Ok. Thanks i have the loom open. Theres several butt connectors on main wiring. I dont know if its "factory" splices or not. I have all wires exposed but cannot see any shorts so i am guessing theres 2 wires spliced to bypass everything or my ignition switch is wired wrong or shorted internally. I will mention that i took my new key switch out of the box and plugged it into a different 125 quad. Turned key on and it smoked and got hot. I unplugged and pulled pins and rearranged then like old switch was wired different. After that it doesnt smoke. So i brought it back to the 110 and rearranged pins to how it came out of the box. And now i get the crank lroblem with turnkey

If you "let the smoke out of the switch" it's probably trash, in my experience. Usualy don't see many splices in a factory harness.

I will order a new switch. But i dont understand though how it would crank by turning the key. It would have to be a wire in keyswitch going straight to soleinoid to turn starter

If the contacts in the switch melted then it is possible.

I usually find the key ignitions are pretty much useless anyway. I bypass mine all the time. It's a pointless theft deterrent feature.
