Before replacing parts I would normally recommend using a multimeter to test the components if possible. If you do not have one you can get a cheap one from harbor freight for around 5 bucks and it works fine. Id start with doing an impedience test on the ignition trigger which is mounted on the stator plate. As long as it isn't an open circuit it should be good. Test for an open circuit in the wires from the Pickup to the cdi connector. . (Test for continuity). Test from the cdi connector and kill switch also and make sure that there is continuity to ground with the switch in the off position, and no continuity in the on position. There should be one pin in the cdi connector that goes to ground and one to the coil also. Test those also. If everything checks out fine with the meter than your likely culprit would be the coil pack, but be sure to test it to verify before replacement.
