Default 1973 Ford Ranchero GT

I bought this last week for $200.00. Found a signed pink slip under the front seat cleaning it out. Yesterday I got it running with very little effort.. Its in very original condition.. bone stock under the hood.. still has the AM radio in the dash.. I am right in the middle of a restoration of my 1970 Mustang and didnt need this project but my wife wants it for her to drive..

Boss had a Ranchero. Worked at his gas station. He wouldn't let anyone near it. His was bright red with a yellow-ish stripe. Sharp looking vehicle. Hope you can get this one restored.

The original plan for this was to sit on it for about 4 years until I finish my Mustang. Now plans have changed. This Ranchero is so close to being a decent driver its going to get some attention so it can be driven soon. Did a tune up to it Monday. New Plugs and wires, while the plugs were out I checked compression. 6 cyls with 125psi, 1 cyl with 130psi and 1 with 120psi. Pretty good with 225k on the odo. (actually the odo says 25,000 but the documentation I found has it at 225K) It starts and runs better now.

Next is the brakes. Hoping to get some parts for that work in the next week or so. Going to get it mechanically sound and then go after the body work and interior.. Would love to be driving it by the end of the year..I will update the thread as the work gets done..
