The steering on my LT250R is loose. Meaning it has a little play in it. Can anybody tell my why its like that and how do I fix it?

Evan, the slop in your stem is likely due to worn upper and lower bearings and replacement is advisable to forestall any additional wear or failure of related parts. I have no knowledge of the 250R so I can't give you much more help on the actual method of replacement of these bearings <IMG SRC="http://forums.atvconnection.com/ubb/redface.gif"> . If you know some one with 250R manual, it shouldn't be a major job to do it yourself. It would involve removal of the bars and the triple clamp and beyond that I'm no help. You can probably order the bearings from Yamaha of Az in Phoenix and cheaper than the average dealer and with a quicker delivery.
But do it now, Evan, before you wind up inspecting your front tire tread from 6 inches away!

Cal, the Az hardpacker

BTW, Evan Yamaha of Az usually has a full page ad each month in Dirt Wheels. If you need their 800#, you can e-mail me & I'll look it up for a nominal fee

Thanks Cal, I do have a manual and can probably do it myself.
