Popping binding in rear end Polaris Sportsman 800X2

Think I'd be looking in a little closer for the spring in case it is missing or using a small flexible magnet to see if it may be down in the diff somewhere.Hate to think the diff would have to be torn apart if it's missing,but may be the case? Really not sure on this one.Finding weird stuff happening every day from you guys.

::UPDATE::
Got my solenoid today and replaced the old one. Everything is working just as it should. It is an absolute pleasure to ride the ATV now without the popping / binding / swaying when traveling. Old Polaris Tech, I appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions on this matter.

One thing I completely forgot about was the solenoid on the transmission that can go out. Had to replace a few of these on different models that were sticking,locking up the rear ends.That could be the problem you're having on the turf mode.
