Full Time Fourwheel Drive
Hello guys, I just bought a 1997 fourtrax 300 and got new itp 27" mudlite tires on the front and back will that be a problem with full time four drive? Are the front and rear geared differently? Will it be ok if I'm not on pavement with it? The original front tires were 1" shorter. Thanks

I would not deviate from that, since the gearing is set up for equal road speed, front and rear. And changing the gearing would be too hard. If you run 27s on the rear, and 23s on the front, then you will experience tire-to-ground slippage, even when driving straight forward, which will increase tire wear and lessen your overall traction. An already brutal ride will prob get worse, too. Also less torque will go to those aggressive rear tires.
Good thing you are staying off pavement, since your tires would be torn up in short order.
No worry about a speedo, as you don't have one.
