so I live in salt lake but I usually take my machines about 10,000 feet
Anyway took it apart the pilot is a 37.5 and the only jet I had close was a 130 should I order the stock jets..
It's actually idling really well I think the pilot is about right for altitude but not sure on main when I punch it in fear with brake on it has good power for a sec then it starts to bog, but doesn't die, thanks for the help OPT.

130 main and 37.5 pilot might be the better choice at 10,000 ft. The chart might give you a better idea on jetting which depends on altitude and temperature.https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...U2gGlaHJWSIlbA Whining could be belt/clutch related or transmission bearings or even as one poster had recently, the support bearing on the output shaft of the gear case. All depends on what year model you have which you haven't mentioned..

It's a 96 magnum 425, I'm gonna try turning in the fuel adjustment screw right now I'm out to 2 1/2. It's getting tiresome to take it out to adjust there is practically no space between the hole to adjust and the head I even made a tiny screwdriver out of a harbor freight pick. Was looking at some jets online are they the large round jets for bst34 was thinking maybe a 135

Higher in altitude you go you may have to turn in the fuel screw a tad plus raise the slide needle e clip one position or so which drops the needle and leans low to midrange. Chart show a 132.5 main from 9,000 to around 12,000,but the 135 might run fine for you.Just trial and error on jetting changes. Had some guys even pull air box lids to compensate for altitude jumps. This helps lean fuel mixtures down too.

As good as the cam looks I'm wondering if the guy before me changed it. Would it be possible for it to be out of time? If so how do you check timing. The guy had wire wrapped around the needle when I bought it and it leaked a lot of fuel to crank case did a carb rebuild and sea foam to crank case and oil change.. huh just don't know.

Shouldn't be out of time, but the only way to check is pull the inspection plug on the recoil cover and find the tdc mark against the case pointer. At this point the cam sprocket index pin should be dead center of the head.

I adjusted it for a couple hours yesterday what I notice is the idle is great I could putt around on it no problems. When I rev it it jumps right up to I'd say a little over half of it's maximum rpm. If I continue to hold it wide open 1.5 - 2 sec.it will finally rev up. The best setting I got on fuel mix screw was about 1.5 out I could hold the brake hard and floor it and it wouldn't bog but then I took it up and down street and with it wide open it would eventually start bogging this machine is irritating me.. by the way this isn't the first time I've spent weeks messing with it I think I need to try a larger jet start from scratch with 140 what jets are they? Large round or small round, also could my fuel pump be messed up or muffler clogged, sorry for long post. thank OPT.
