What size tires and rims
I am a newbie and I just aquired a 1993 Foretrax 300. It has Yamaha rims on it and Dunlops that need replacing. It is a 2x4 and I will be doing mild trail rides with some bad muddy spots. No rock climbing or bouncing off trees (yet). My concern is the front tires are taller than the back. Can anyone tell me what is supposed to be stock? Thanks for your help.

On the 1999 the rears were 25" tires and the front 23". On a 2wd you do not need the front and backs to be the same size like a 4x4. http://www.powersportsnetwork.com/en...ehicleCode=170

The rear tires are 25" with the fronts being 23", i had one of these once myself. I think even on the 4x4 models, the front tires were smaller as well. With it being 2 wheel drive, just a mild tread pattern is all you need for the front tires. You do need some grip as when the tires get completely worn out its hard to steer with no tread on the tires in slippery conditions. On the rears, there are a few aggressive tires that come in the 25" size. Mud lite A/T's and Maxxis Zillas come to mind, with the Zillas being a bit more aggressive but both are lightweight mud tires that are close in weight to the stock tires so you won't notice any power loss. The Yamaha wheels might not be the same size as the stock Honda wheels, so check to make sure you get the right rim size, that will the last number in the tire size. The stock size in the rear was a 9" wheel but the Yamaha wheels might be bigger. There will be 3 numbers in all tire sizes. Height x width x rim size is how tire sizes are indicated.
