Sand Skate II vs. Skat-Trak Hauler
#1
I cannot make up my mind on which dune tire to go with, the 20x11x10 Sand Skate II 9 V-Blade or 20x10x10 Skat-Trak Hauler 9 paddle.
Does anyone know the height of the V-Blade on the sand skate II? The height of the paddle on the haulers is 7/8" according to the skate-trak web page. I'm thinking that if the height of the V-Blade is 7/8" or higher on the sand skate II, then it probably isn't much different in hill climb and drag performance than the hauler, and should provide better turning. On the other hand if the V-Blade isn't at least 7/8" then the hauler probably would hook up better for sure. I don't want to go with the V-Blade and be at a slight disadvantage to a banshee with haulers.

Skat-trak also makes what they call a taller hauler. It has taller paddles on it. I believe they are just a tad over 1" tall. You dont want to go to agressive. More paddles will help, but if you go to tall on the scoops, you will lose wheel speed. You want to maintain that. To much traction will lug your motor and you wont be able to get much speed. You will dig in good, but the idea is to get you up on top of the sand and stay there.
