Someone with experience: Haulers vs. Edge
#1
I have a modified 440EX and I am running Skat-trak edge 8 paddles(20x10x10) now, I was curious how much a difference there is between these and 8 or 9 paddle haulers in drag racing, hill climbing, turning, and sidehilling. I do alot of hillclimbing and trail riding in the Oregon Dunes, will haulers make a difference in straight line riding?, will they take away from my turning and sidehilling ability? My buddy said he would buy my edges so I could get Haulers, but if they don't turn or sidehill as well, then I won't do it.
Thanks, Norm!

I have seen very few v-paddles on hill shooters. Most in my area run haulers. Anything from stock bikes to alcohol bikes. A few guys i ride with run the edge paddles on their wives machines for better stability. They keep the back end from sliding out on side hills better. They run them on a 300ex and a warrior. He had a honda "r" at the time and ran haulers on it. I run haulers on my banshee too, and they are easier to skate with. They can slide out on you on a side hill, but in my opinion, it makes the riding more fun. Its an easy concept to look at. A straight paddle is going to slide easier due to it being straight. A V will catch on the sides, keeping the rear end straight, on a side hill anyway. I guess its all personal preference, but I would go with the haulers if it were me.
Enjoy.
Enjoy.
