I recently put a CBR954 engine on my DS650 and was looking for some info on what gearing would be best for me. I plan on doing some dirt drags and playing on the dirt roads and some open trails. I'm running 15/40 right now. How much difference would a 45T on the rear make? With clearance being little bit of an issue what gearing would you suggest? Thanks for ant replys.

 

I would suggest going down a few teeth on the front sprocket say a 13, or 14 tooth. As its not like your gonna go 180mph in which the 954 gearing was set for. But at the same time..you gear the bike too low, its gonna blow the tires off even worse than before. Also just curious of har hard it was to fit the 954 into the ds650?I currently have a blown up ds650 and a old cbr900rr motor sitting and taking up space..any insight and advice for the build would be greatly appreciated..thanks!
