I do not want to hijack the thread, but I was hoping to get some expert advice on the Paiute trails. I'm putting together a trip for me and some friends. We'll be coming from Washington, Texas, and Oklahoma to meet in Marysvale, spend a few days on the trail, and get a lot of riding in.

If you guys wouldn't mind glancing at this "tentative" route I had in mind and offer some pointers, feedback, guidance, I would really appreciate it. Am I crazy, or close to having planned a great ride?

Day 1; Marysvale to Barney Lake
Marysvale to the radio tower via trails 02, 24, 65, and 78.
Radio tower to Barney lake via 78 and 01, then trail up to Barney lake (assuming this exist).
Camp at Barney Lake
Estimated mileage around 52 miles.

Day 2; Barney Lake to Rocky Ford
Ride the 01 trail to the Rocky Ford trail. The Rocky Ford trail is not listed on the National Geographic map, but I have the GPS coordinates from your video.
Camp at the top of the Rocky Ford Canyon trail.
Estimated mileage around 43.
This should leave time to explore some of the trails along the way as well.

Day 3; Rocky Ford to Marysvale via Tushar Mountains
Ride the 01 through Circleville, trail 88 through LaBaron Lake area, then 01 through Sawmill Ridge. Connect with 02 and ride to Marysvale.
Stay in hotel at Marysvale.
estimated mileage 62.

Day 4; Marysvale to Sage Flat trail back to Marysvale
02, to 01, to 76, to 22, to 21, to 22, to 02 back to Marysvale
Estimated mileage 50.

Appreciate any feedback you guys who are familiar with the area can offer. Thanks!

Hi Clay, I think Kenny (Specta) is going to have to answer you on the details of the trails you anticipate taking. We followed him around on the middle two days of a 4 day visit so I didn't pay as much attention to the map on those days. Your mileages seem to be around the right distances for each segment from what I can see on my Paiute Trail map.

One way or the other, it's a great trip that will leave you wanting to go back again and again.

PS It might take Specta a little time to answer. He's been pretty busy from what I understand.

Thanks for the reply. I'm getting feedback from some other folks as well, and the itinerary is already changing.

One last question for you locals. Do you know when the Jamboree will be for 2014? The online event calendar shows it as the 6th through the 9th, but some cabins I checked with stated it was the week of the 14th. I'm trying to avoid the crowds and would like to come to the Paiute on an off week. Appreciate anyone who knows posting. Thanks!

I got lazy - what can I say??

Here's one about 1/2 mile from the end of my driveway here in Clear Creek Canyon which happens to be PST 76. I took this one just a few days ago.
