ice fishing is totally alien to me. I've heard a few dudes get killed each year, same as the rock fishing in OZ, but must admit, our fish tend to be just that bit bigger

I think you've got a long wait the way the weather patterns are going. Hasn't helped hunting either.

Yeah I hate the in between season every year. Most VT trails close for the season Oct. 1 for hunting. This year its going to be a long in between season.

I did finally make it out onto the ice. It was a short season though. It's now too sketchy to venture out on. Here are some pics of this past season.

I'm amazed you were able to get any ice fishing in with the winter we just had up here. Not complaining. It's a lot easier than shoveling.

Yeah I was shocked I finally was able to get out. I thought it wasn't going to happen. But I too liked not having to shovel and the heating bill was really nice too.

Most winters I use about 3 cord of wood to keep the house warm. Last winter was more like 3.5. This winter, so far, 1.5. I won't have to spend my whole spring driving up to VT for firewood.

Good to see someone out there with ice!! Looks like we're not going to get any ice fishing in this year.

Once again I have decided to get my machine ready for ice fishing early. I'd rather do it while the weather is decent. Now the waiting game for ice begins. It'll be a couple of months.
