Default Countrygirl'S Honda

I was putting a crank case cover gasket on my '96 Honda 300 Fortrax & the kick start assembly slid1/2 way out. So I hooked the "spring thing" on the end of shaft back onto the inside of the crankcase, turned 1/2 round clockwise to put it back in. when it slid back in place i got it turned to where the mark was on top & am now sliding the case back on w/ the new gasket. Just wondering if theres something else I need to do to kick start b4 bolting everything back together? Any help would be appreciated.

A service manual would be incredibly helpful here. You can have confidence in having all the parts and putting them back together in proper order and orientation. Sounds like you likely have it right though.

Shouldn't have any issues as long as nothing come disconnected. A manual would be helpful.
