Big fan of Rotella conventional in almost everything I run now. 15w40 in my street bike, no friction modifiers so the clutch likes it. Straight 30w in mowers, 10w30-40 in other engines. It's good stuff!
Used to use Castrol a lot, but the dark color bugged me. It was looking all black not long after an oil change.

Interesting discussion going on over in a bike forum I frequent.
Seems Shell has added a multi vehicle T6 that has friction modifiers in it. Bottles are supposed to be marked "multi vehicle" and it you get the old heavy duty it's still ok for bikes and quads.
Also they just started discussing whether JASO MA and the JASO MA2 markings. The 2 meaning it's safe for bikes with catalytic convertors.
There's nothing like a good oil thread that at some point just makes you want to stop using any oil at all.

Run Rotella T6 in your Cat. I've actually tested a bunch of oils, sent samples to Blackstone Labs. T6 had only 20% of the wear metals as Mobil one, and 10% as much as Motorcycle oil = Maxxima 10-40 mineral oil. Look on the API Service circle on the back. If it says CJ-4 / SM and the bottom part of the circle is blank, it's the good stuff. Any thing like "Energy Conserving" is not right.
