Default Mammoth Wheel Size

When I received my Mammoth 12-23-07, I noticed that the tire sizes were correct for the front and the back, 25-8-12, and 25-10-12, but the tires were 4 ply on one side and 6 ply on the other. The 4 ply said to inflate to 14 lbs for a max load rating of about 340lb and the other side of the vehicle said to inflate to 32 lbs for a load rating of 1620. The manual says to inflate to 5 psi. What is correct? Anyone. Thanks for any input. Ron

When you are hauling heavy loads it is probably better to inflate them to the max it states on the tire. (14 front, 32 rear). If your driving with an empty bed especially if your going through mud or snow its probably better to have them at the 5 psi the manual says.
The best way to figure out what tire pressure is best for your vehicle/tires is to take a piece of chalk draw a line across the tire and drive forward a hundred feet. Then look at the chalk line. If the middle is worn away more than the edges of the tire, its over-inflated. If the edges are worn more than the middle, its under-inflated. If the chalk line wears evenly than your tire pressure is good.
This works well on cars but it might not work as well doing it on atv tires.

Thanks Jleo, This will help. One of the problems is that the 14 lb tires, one 25-8-12 and one 25-10-12 are on the same side (drivers) and the 32 lb (both 6 ply are on the passenger side. I think the factory made a mistake but I am not sure which way. Should all tires be 4 ply or 6 ply or did they send me one 4 ply for the front and one for the rear by mistake? Maybe after the holidays i will be able to contact the local dealer. He does't answer the phone now.

Sounds like they made a mistake, what did you pay for? The 6-ply are probably more expensive if you paid for the 6 ply and they gave you the 4-ply I would be complaining.

Hi my belt slipped at first, but now seems to work very well. I also found that to change speeds from high to low or vise versa it is important to have the motor at low idle. I must say that in four wheel drive this thing is unstoppable. I am planning to upgrade to 14 inch tires with more aggressive tires. Has anyone any advice? What type and where to buy them. I am in southeastern Québec where the snow is very abundant, like right up to your wahoo at times.

Sorry, I mean 14 inch wheels, not tires, the tires I believe are 27inch. With 800cc I believe there will still be lots of power and this will give me an additional inch of clearance.
