Can-am Commander xt-p

I am a little confused by Can-Am offerings these days. It sometimes looks like a new offering every week with their models. Almost wonder if they just don't understnad their markets or something. Take the narrow model that they offered for what, one year? Confusing. With that said, I would agree with you on saying that the XT-P is a little more sporty than the XT. Is it a Sport model? Hmmm compared to what. If you apply ATV logic, where a traditional sport quad has 2 wheel drive and no racks, even that is kind of muddied now with performance 4WD models from Can-AM. So I guess why not muddy the water a bit here too. I would say any SxS that is considered a traditional sport machine would not have a bed... but that sure gets muddied by... you guessed it, Can-Am. So I guess if you are old school like me, I just think of them as a sporty model XT-P Commander and leave it there. The real thing is both the XT and XT-P are just upscale versions that have some bling. Personally, I don't even know what they are doing having a stripped Commander in the first place. All SxSs need a winch to survive in the wild. And the bimini top should be standard as well. Other than some paint and decals, that is about all you get other than fancy wheels. I think they should just build the XT and be done with it. Old school says, buy the maverick if you want sporty... Commander to plow the snow and haul some gear. Better yet buy both. My biggest complaint with Can-Am is that they charge too much for their machines and leave too much out. They know full well that you will be spending another $5K or more to get it the way you want. Why not just build it with the stuff already on it and save us the hassle.
