Impulse purchase!
On the way to the range a few weeks ago, I stooped is a gun shop. I had been giving a little thought to getting a cheap 22 plinker revolver to add to the Walther P22 I had bought in February.
Well, this Heritage Rough Rider just jumped up and said "buy me". They had a pretty good price on it, under $200 so I could not help myself. Here it is, and here is what it did at the range yesterday after a little tweaking.
10 yds, with 4 different types of ammo as noted on the target. The center was 6 rounds of each kind before I shot at the smaller targets.
Not too bad of a little plinker.

That's a sweet deal. I just love .22 pistols. Cheap to shoot, low recoil, it's all the marksmanship without most of the cost. I have a Colt Diamondback that I picked up back when they weren't horribly priced. Hammer feels like it has power assist, ultra smooth.
I was looking long and hard at a single six with the long buntline barrel, but all he had was the mag cylinder. Kinda pricey to shoot.
Best ammo I've found for the Colt is a subsonic Eley pistol round. Not cheap, but with .22's the ammo makes a lot of difference in the accuracy.
