How does the Calendar feature work?
What is the correct way to add an event?
What can be added? Who can see event adds?

The month of April 2009 started on Wed.
However as the Month is now displayed the first is on Thursday.
Gives new meaning to the saying "a day late and a dollar short."

I am not sure how to use the Calendar myself or who can add what.

I see the first on weds when I look at the Calendar and today is enclosed with a small red bar around the third.

Some where there is a bush holiday I am sure that needs added

 

On Calendar Permissions in registered users you should be able to add events as I see it. I have a box down below where you can add an event.

I see now: the number closest to the day is NOT in the same block.
