i just bought a 1985 250 big red that has some problems shifting down for second to first. im driving along and im gearing down to slow down and i try to go from second to first. i push the shifter down the whole way and i fell no click but it comes back up fine and is stil in second gear. i have to push down on the shift a lot of times before it goes from second to first and somtime this problem happens even if i'm stopped,, does anyone know what this might be,, thanks

 

There is an adjuster on the right hand side of the wheeler if you are sitting on it, that might help if you adjust it you need a 14mm wrench and a regular screwdriver, loosen that nut and turn that screw one way and see if that helps
