Howdy all!

I just started cleaning the carb on my Big Red; been sitting in storage for 4-5 years. I had the carb cleaned a few years back, but I wasn't able to watch my friend re-assemble the throttle valve. It was sticking so I pulled it out of the carb. When I pulled the slide and needle out, the needle retainer clip fell out. I'm trying to figure out how it goes back in. Does it sit within the spring or just above the needle within the slide?

Also, I wasn't able to see thru or get air thru the slow jet. Is the orifice supposed to be open from one end to the other? I tried to run several gauge wires thru but couldn't get any to go thru.

I've looked through the manual but couldn't see where the retainer clip went in the throttle.

Any replies or drawings would be appreciated!
