400EX shock covers (advise)

Outerwears made some for my Rubicon and I really like them. They can be put on and taken off without dismounting the shock. They fit perfectly and are working great. They even went to the local Honda dealer and measured the shocks to make sure the dimensions were correct. They are at www.outerwearsracing.com

I spoke with my dealer and he mentioned that the shock wears are now going to be shipped with a softer lining than the originals.
Depending on how much of a fanatic you are...The shockwears I have wear the paint off your shocks pretty quickly. Thats not good when you pay 500+ for new shocks.(at least for me)
Be careful not to put them on too tightly...they must be allowed to move freely to help prevent the scuffing on the springs.
They do work well though...except when your done with any water play, I would recommend taking the shockwears off and drying them and the shocks off before reinstalling.

One word. Denton! I had some of the other shockwears on my 300EX and it wore the shocks out more than if I didn't have them. Not really, but they did wear the paint off the springs and I could never get the velcro just right. I like the zippers of Dentons. He has VERY good service too. My 2 cents.

Just get your mom to pull out her old sewing machine and sew a zipper on a piece of nylon. That's basically it.
I haven't done it yet, but will be doing it next after my homemade skid plates.
I'll have pics posted soon of the plates. They are going to look really good. So far, I have about $10 invested in them.
When it comes to my outerwears, I don't plan to spend more than $5.
