How does the 450R do against the other 450's? In almost all of the atv mags, usually the 450R finishes last...I just want to know how it would do in stock form vs. the yfz and lt-r. The kind of riding i do is mostly all trails, lakes in the winter, maybe ill hit a track once in a while but not so sure. I just wouldnt want to get a 450R and be beat by the other 450's with the prices being somewhat the same, and knowing i could've gotten them...So what one?

If you mostly ride trails than I would definately get the 450r. If your drag racing another 450, stock if your as good of a rider or a better rider than the other person you should be able to beat them every time. especially the ltr 450 since it lacks a little in the low end department. On the track if your a good rider, you will be able to take them or hang right with them. The 450r cant be that bad on the track if pros are winning on them. I love my new 450r and I would highly reccomend it to you.

450r are not the best for trails (what i mean is theirs no reverse) their made to be raced.dont buy a 450r if your riding in lakes get a foreman or one of the other 4x4 to ride in mud and lakes.

now looking at the quads your thinking about i know raptors feel top heavy on sharp turns fell like your going to tip over.i dont know anything about the ltr but i hear alot of good things about the yfz and polaris preds and outlaws.

went riding with a buddy that had an 06 LTR 450 with the cherry bomb add-on and baffle removed. The riding conditions were cold(20 deg.) and muddy. My 05 450r(bone stock @the time) absolutely yanked him out of the hole 2 or 3 quad lenghths. He said he was catching up to me when we were running out of straightaway. The only time he had a chance was when I lifted the front too much on the launch. Cant wait to see how the mods I've done improves my 450r's performance.

Ya dude its ok i know what you meant. Im going to get a sport quad im not gettin a fat foreman or something, believe me i know my wheelers..just want opinions about the 450R vs the others. Hey gidaver...were you on trails when you raced that LTR/?..Im planning on test driving a 450R in a week or so...i can get the Special edition black w/ flames for 6800..but i hope i can get them lower.

we were out in the trails in a very rocky, muddy terrain. The mud was clumpy thick. It could have been the conditions that maybe the LTR 450 wasn't suited for getting good traction. Both quads had stock radial dunlops, although the LTR had more aggresive tread design and 18" tires. My trx has 20" tires. Under normal dry conditions it might have been a different situation. We'll race again here in the near future, and hopefully with the mods I've done I'll stretch him out even more.
