1983 Honda 3-wheeler questions?
Hi...
My friend just purchased a 1983 Honda
3 wheeler and boy does it go!!
What kind of oil should he use
in this 1983 Honda 3-wheeler with a
200 cc engine.
Do you have to adjust the
valves or are they self-adjusting?
Does it have points that need to
be replaced or solid state ignition?
How do you tension the chain?
And do you need to oil the chain
and with what kind of oil?
Thanks so much!
Jo

Oil...I use the valvoline atv oil
no points
the valves need to be adjusted.
you tension the chain by loosening four bolts on the rear axle and then turning the two nuts on the adjusters clockwise to tighten, then tighten down the four big bolts you loosened.
lube the chain with any locally available chain lube. Walmart sells champion brand chain lube. It works for my purposes. Goes on wet stays on long.
I'm guessing this is a 200or a 200S three wheeler?????
The S will denote front suspension
no points

Dont get me wrong mantiance is good....but honda 200s are the toughest motor on earth keep ANY oil in it and it will last forever! Ive even run them out of oil and they still ran when i toped it back off the 200 i have now smokes like a chimney and still runs great with an occasional spark plug
