Changing Drum brakes. 250 ex
You have to make sure the shoe's are properly alined ,and that the piston's in the brake cylinder's are pressed in for enough and the brake adjuster's are adjusted back in far enough for the drum to slip over them right ! I always turn in the adjuster's far enough to get the drum's on , then i slip them off and adjust the shoe's a little at a time ; untill i feel just a slight rub of the shoe's to the drum then back off a couple click's so they aren't dragging when you have the brake's released ! Just don't lose your cool and if you do take a break untill you're calm again before you start on it again , i know it's easier said than done ; but take it a little at a time ! The only thing i can think of that would keep the drum from going back on is miss alinement of the shoe's are the shoe's are a little off spec's in size or thickness that the originals's were ! I bought a set of EBC shoe's off ebay , they were suppose to fit my model but they didn't ; and i had to use my 4 & a half inch hand held grinder and make them fit ! If you're not sure of the size check them again't your old shoe's , then you can be sure it's the alinment ; i can only thank God for digital camera's the first time i do a job for the first time i take lot's of picture's of then and after so i'm sure the job is done right the first time !
