Default Don't overtighten drain plug

I saw this on another forum, about how overtightening the drain plug on a Foreman 500 or 420 Rancher can break off a boss cast into the inside of the case into which the drain plug threads, as opposed to just stripping the threads.

The result couldn't be fixed by heli-coil or oversized drain plug, and would require opening the case.

This was something I wasn't aware of, and would really be a bummer, so I thought I'd post a link.

Like the one feller said... don't put a self tapping oversized drain bolt in the case... They crack cases when turned in.

on Rancher 350s, just above the drain plug in the case, there is another level of the case and I have seen these broken also when people install new drain bolt threads or retap them bigger
