HRC 07 450TRX Pinging?
Just wondering if anybody is running 110 race fuel on an HRC 450. This last weekend it was "pinging" when i was in 3rd with it buried on the throttle, drop to 2nd and it would stop. I know the are rev monsters, but it was pulling hard still, just a few pings here and there. I have always run super in it, but may try a 50/50 mix. I just adjusted the valves abuot 20 hours ago, so I know they are do, just wondering if I need to do more valve inspects or jump the octane up???

recon why dont you just buy 93 or 94 octane?</end quote></div>
I actually meant 93. The recommended amout of booster raises it 2.5, so I end up with 95.5. Better yet, the booster also contains a fuel preservative (good for 1 year), it absorbs moisture, and contains an ester synthetic lube for the upper cylinder!

Valve adjustment and pinging have nothing to do with each other.
If this is the first time this happened, I would suspect that you got ahold of some flat gas. I would just try some new premium gas and see what that does.
Another trick I have done is dump two ounces of toluene in / gallon of gas. You can get it by the gallon or fiver at any paint store.

I don't think so, but I could be wrong. I am in no way a stellar mechanic, but the more I read the more it sounds like detonation. Can someone dummy down this term for me? Exactly what it is and what causes it? If I am correct it is a simple octane issue, as suggested, I could have gotten some flat gas, but I think for future rides I will run a mix (gallon of 110 and 4 93 pump) and see what happens. Can't hurt anything.
