Angry tether switch

i need help. I had a pro design tether hooked up on my 450r to the key switch and it stopped working awhile ago. so i hooked it up to the ignition coil and it worked the opposite way it was suppose to so when the tether was out it would run and when it was in it wouldn't start. SO now i just got a pro armor tether for Christmas and i also got that kit to hook it up i went out to the barn and tried hooking it up. Now i can't get this one to work either. I have hooked these up before on other bikes why can't i get one to work properly on this 450r? This is just leading to a bunch or aggravation and frustration. thanks in advance
