Default Honda 400EX

Just curious, and don't give me bullshit because this is my first post.

For X-Mas I was wondering if this would be a good buy.

2003 400ex complete rebuild trade for 4x4 atv

If anyone has any ideas, let me know. I usually ride with my friends on my huge 250 (saying huge because it's way over weight for a 250) Suzuki Quad Runner.

They have a pretty good mud hole, but nothing a 400ex couldn't handle. They have a creek we usually cross, maximum depth I've seen a quad go in was about 4 ft (it was a rancher, which have crazy high air intakes like 4 1/2 ft off the ground!!!). But we usually just ride normally around this dirt bike track they got with several doubles and tables tops. If you guys don't think this 4-Wheeler is sufficient and you think I'd need a 4x4 for the water and the mud, let me know and I'll look for a used one and post the link to get some advice.

Looks good to me. You won't go where a 4 x 4 can but you'll be great on the track. hard to have both.

Yep. But after watching some videos, this thing with some simple little paddles tires on it can go through some crazy mud! Hopefully my Dad will be up for buying one of these bad boys.

Unfortunately my Dad wasn't up for the buy. So in the spring I'll get a job and save up for one hopefully. From what I've seen these things a beasts on tracks.

If trails are mostly your game, you could look into a raptor 700, they have reverse, which would be a nice feature

the trx is like a mustang compared to a mudboggin truck, yes it might throw all the mud out the hole making its way through it, but ! u will be buying bearings and chains and cleaning carb constantly , the trx cost to keep meaning maintnance is required way more than a utility type atv, i have both and my 06 shiny black 450 er has never seen a puddle other than on the street after it rains, best time to ride in my opinion....., But i would trade for the racing 4 wheeler and just pop wheelies and stuff when they go snorkling..... lol, my 75 cents

if you want to have a sport quad feel and still have 4x4 & IRS to hit the trails and mud holes with confidence, buy a renegade 500- (or an 800 if you want to kill yourself ) Highest HP in it's class...

Problem is with the renegade, youd never find one for even close to the price of this 400EX. Maybe a wolverine or something would be better price-wise
