Honda rancher 420 will turn over but no spark
I recently got a 2007 honda rancher 420 electric shift and FI , the bike wasn't in neutral when I got it so I finally got it into neutral manually and put a new battery in but the start button on the Handel bars will not work and if I jump it off with the starter solenoid it will turn over but I'm not getting spark in the spark plug , no idea what's going on with it I'm more of a Kawasaki brute force kinda guy but i want to get this honda going , please help

I checked the fuses and the FI isnt making noise and the starter button isn't working , it has a new battery and when I turn the key on the dash works but there is a dash mark that blinks on the dash it looks like this ( - ) I can get the four wheeler to turn over with the starter solenoid with the key on and in neutral and it does not get spark for some reason

The blinking -- on the dash is a fault code, either for the engine management system or the electric shift. To be honest the 420 is so electronically complex that fault finding is best left to an expert. I recently had a 420 with a rodent damaged loom and I did figure it out, but I have the official workshop manual, 8 years experience of electrical faults on quads, and the 420 is the most difficult I have worked on.

I would start at the other end, the signal generator rarely gives trouble and is a swine to get at inside the alternator case at the rear of the engine. Are you sure the kill switch is in the right position? Change the plug, check if the coil is getting a signal. If you don't get the whiring and clicking when you switch on, the fuel system isn't working either. Remove the high pressure pipe to the injector to check this, with the tap off, a stream of fuel should flow when the ignition is turned on.
