Default 2013 Honda Rancher AT 3 Speed?

I am looking at a used Honda Rancher AT and it is only showing 3 speeds when shifting manually. I thought it was a 5 speed.

Any ideas? Wondering if something is wrong.

It should be a 5 speed. If its only showing 3 speeds something is indeed wrong with it. The Rincon only has 3 forward speeds but all the other Honda quads have 5 speeds. I think I can see why someone traded it in. I'd steer clear of that one.

I'm a little late to the game but since this is an AT it has the dual clutch tranny, meaning that gears 1,3,5 are powered by clutch A, while gears 2,4,and R are powered by clutch B. Therefore I bet since you only have 3 gears those three gears are 1,3,5 and you do not have access to shift into 2,4, or reverse. If that is the case it sounds like you might have to replace one of your 'dual' clutches.

I think its a bit of a moot point now, I'm pretty sure he won't be buying that one. A 2013 atv with clutch problems either indicates a factory defect or excessive abuse. Either way, I know I wouldn't want it.
