Default Honda ATC 110 Light problem

I am in the midst of fixing up a 1979 Honda ATC 110 for a Christmas present and I have run into a problem. It runs and idles great with lights off, but when I switch to low beam the tail light comes on and the headlight starts to get bright and the three wheeler dies, when I put it on high beam the tail light comes on but no headlight and the three wheeler idles and runs just fine, some of the wiring was off on the switch when I got it so I'm wondering if I didn't sadder them all in the correct spots. Could anyone show me a pic of the bottom of their switch so I can see where they are supposed to go? The wiring diagrams don't show exactly where each one goes.

Could it be a ground problem? I fixed the high beam wire but now it dies when on high or low beam, almost like the lights are pulling to much energy. They are stock lights. It is a 1979 so it doesn't have a cdi, it uses points. Do I need to adjust those possibly? I believe I have all the wires hooked up correctly now.

If it's running ok before you hit the lights I'd say you still have a wiring problem either at the bulb connection or possibly a bad ground.

It has a ground on the grab bar, but I can't seem to find the other ground. There is a wire going back like there should be as on the diagram that is supposed to ground to frame, but the wiring all runs on the inside of the frame so its hard to get to and look at. Anyone know exactly where it should be grounded to the frame? Also I had to sadder the two wires coming from the alternator and they may touch because they are jammed in there pretty tight, could this cause anything?

Never mind, I put some tape in between those two wires and that solved the problem, they were touching
