Default 400ex valve adjust tips

Ok guys, help me out. I have a 2007 400ex, I am assuming is heavily modified. I know it was rebuild at one point, and it may have an aftermarket cam. She Has a small tick. I will post a link to a video. Any help with adjusting the valves? I get feeler gauges in the mail soon. How do I know when it is at TDC, and at what stroke? I am new to this bike, trying to learn everything I can.

Don't get caught up on "strokes",confuses people. Pull the valve cover caps, pull the large plug to get to the flywheel nut and also the plug to see the flywheel marks. Items #15,16. Honda OEM Parts - The Worlds BEST supplier for Original Honda Replacement Parts Discounted Honda Motorcycle, Dirt Bike, ATV, SxS, and Scooter Turn the flywheel nut and look at the intake rocker arm. Once you see it go down and start to come back up,as you slowly turn the flywheel nut look for the "T" mark for tdc and stop when it lines up with the case pointer. You can then check /adjust valve clearance to specs.
