Sorry to hear about your situation, but as you know, primary transport comes before ATVs.

I lost quite a few riding buddies in my younger days due to this.

Keep the 400EX. That chevy diesel sucks anyways.

Hey,

bummer dude! that's gotta hurt. when i was younger (before i turned 16) i wanted a 4wheeler soo bad, but my dad always said i'd rather have a car someday when i started driving. sure enough, he was right. once you get your license, life isn't the same. you'll want to drive all over the place. places a 4wheeler just won't take you.

but sounds like you've got a good plan. with a job you'll have a paycheck coming in every week. sadly most of that will go to gas (or should i say diesel) for your truck. i've got a Jeep Cherokee that my dad bought for me, and i'm working/saving to but a cheap used 4wheeler. so i'm sure in the long run it'll work out for you too.

later,
bigmac

Everyone is right. That chevy diesel is the most gutless, unreliable, least effeicient diesel offered. I have yet to see one that has over 150,000 miles on it (I know dozens of them around, all years, turbo/non-turbo). I know of 6 local ford diesels that have turned 300,000. I don't know about dodge, no one around here likes them or really cares.

I am selling my Katana (laid it down and now I have a cool story hospital bill), to buy an old Galaxie. I hate to let it go but the 500XL will be more fun and safer.

I have a 97 one ton with the 6.5 let me tell ya. JUNK------- it went to the electronic injector pump in 97 and damn they suck. I have put 4 pumps in it. 3 clutches, ABS always broke. Very Very gutless. They have a flow gate turbo and the turbo doesnt kick in till high R's so basically the durmax is on its way..................yeaaaa

Get a used Toyota 4wd. If it has 100000 miles on it, it will still outlast a Chevy & you can get a good one for a lot less money & keep the quad. Get a nice truck later when you are paying for it. Trust me on this, you want an inexpensive truck for now & also one that will not tear up so you will not have to sell your next quad to fix it.
