Right now I have a pretty much stock 250R I am looking to get a lot more power out of it and I don't want to mod the motor out. I am looking to just swap out the motor for.....something else. I was thinking a CR500 motor but I am worried the vibrations might be too much even with rubber mounts, does anyone have experience with this, and if so how are the vibes?

Too much vibration. Don't even mess with it. I had my 250's counter balancer out of sinc when I put it back together, and it vibrated so much it would put my feet to sleep within 30'. Just think about a non ballanced 500cc piston. No way.

For the money you would spend on the 500 motor, you could get some good port work done, and a quality pipe. MP Racing is building some screaming motors, and ESR is following closely. Contact either, and tell them you want a FAST motor

I know you can get a 425, 400 350, 500, 310, 330, 295, ect ect for a 250R, but I want reliability, when you put that big top end on a b/e that was designed for under 40 hp you get problems. I don't want that, don't want an R motor at all. I am no on a $4000 budget lol I am going with a 350X.

Why? 350X won't ever be the motor your R is.

Ok I will try AGAIN I don't have $3000 to spend!!! I DONT WANT A 400CC 250R !! Unless you guys want to give me 2g I am not going to build up my motor, I can get a 350X and have like $500 to put into it, or have my motor and put the mony i have into it and basically all that would get me is rebuild....wow great, thats not what i want!

sorry for the confusion dude! If you do decide this mabey later you can find an older XR500 top to put on the 350X case. It's your quad and your money but I would rebuild the R to an 265 and RIDE!!!!!!!! later

If I could afford that I would do it but my budget is about $1000. Plus I have to rebuild the whole thing every couple years
