recons running lean?

If you bought the bike used, it's possible the former owner had changed the main jet or adjusted the needle jet for some reason. If it was owned previously, the first thing I'd do would be to pull the bowl from the carb & see what size the main jet is. You can contact the dealer's parts dept. to get the stock size. Then check the jet needle to be certain it is in the nominal position, which is the 3rd position. If all this is correct and you've made no airflow modifications, it SHOULD not be lean. But as always, the only real way to know is to ask the engine what it needs. That's done via a test ride/plug read with a brand new plug.
If you're unclear how to run a test/plug read you can email me for my tutorial on the topic.

Well my bike is kinda used?? It was my brothers and i drove it most of the time and then i bought it. As far as I know he hasn't done anything to it and yes it is all stock ecept for the tires. Right now it is in getting a tune up and service, so I don't know the color of the spark plug. But I guess I should have asked is if the bike would run any different, if it is lean(like sputtering or low power)

when operating on the main jet, that is, 3/4 to full throttle, a lean air fuel mix will cause the engine to cut out intermittently and the engine will run hot.
TextAs I said in the previous reply you need to do a proper test and plug read in order to know what's going on in the engine and you need to do it now! before you have engine damage. You can't tell anything by reading your old plug. Use a new one and do a proper test, not just a ride around the neighborhood.
