4x2 in mud/snow
#1
Hello,
Does anyone ride there 2 wheel drive quads in a lot of mud or snow? I am curious as to wether I have to buy a 4x4 or just get a 2 wd sport type quad. I know a 4x4 will be better I am just looking for people who use their 300ex,warrior,etc. and still make it through snow/mud. Also, what kind of tires do you think are the best?
Thanks Steve

i know people are gonna geat mad when i say this, but a 300EX, warrior, etc, aint gonna go through SERIOUS mud. once the ruts get 5 inches deep they get hung up, then you're done. they'll go far if you know how to ride (stratle the ruts) but they will dig a hole in the thick stuff real quick!

My brother has a 400 ex and he uses it for all purpose driving. Mud and snow. But I would suggest a 350 of so utility 2x4 because then you don't have to worry about a chain. If money is no problem go and get a big bor sport utilitie quad like a kawi 650 or grizz or rincon. That way you get both of two worlds a sport bike and a 4x4.
And for the tire I would suggest a fairly agressive tread tire if you are going to be in mud and snow. Like the bearclaws or sur tracks, spidertracks etc.
