Knowsalot help!
#1
Hey knowsalot, I'm in the process of restoring/hotrodding a 84 125m for my wife but I've run into a snag. As you are probably aware of those old seat pans aways rust to hell. I remember on my 82 185s it completly rusted to pieces. Anyway, I have a new seatcover and the foam is good but the pan is starting to fall apart on me. I know honda never sold the pan by itself. My question to you is, do you know of any aftermarket seat pan manufacturer?
My other option is to rebuild the seatpan with fiberglass but then how would I attach the seat.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hey Rob.
A company named "Wide Open" started amking aftermarket fiberglass seat pans a few years back. I know that they have them available for the older model ATC110s and 185s but they still don't offer one for the 125M.
Seatpans that interchange with yours is the 1983-1985 ATC110 and ofcourse, the 1984-1985 ATC125M.
If you don't have any luck in finding one of them in good condition used, I would take the advise of sickmojave and smitty and try and refurbish what is left of yours with fiberglass.
If push comes to shove, buy the 1979-1982 Honda ATC110 aftermarket fuel tank, seat pan assembly, and rear fenders. It will all work on the ATC125M if used together.
Fuel tank is roughly $125.00, seat pan with foam and cover $140.00, and rear fenders $100.00
Doing this will make the ATC125M look like an older ATC, but it will be all-new. Just something to think about.
Later.
