300ex and 400ex axle, HELP 911!!!
#1
I bent my fathers 300ex axle yesterday and I must now replace it, I have a 400ex and I was going to buy a durablue +4 axle, but I need to know if my stock 400 axle will work on the 300ex, I know they are the same diameter and use the same bearing, but I don't know if the measurements are correct. I measured and it is 8 inches from the rotor to the sprocket on the 300 and 8.25 on the 400, I can't remember if there was any amount of adjustment to snug up that .25 inch. Has anyone tried this or know if it will work? Its kind of an emergency as my dad is trading the 300ex this week for a mini sprint with a 250R motor any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It looks like you are going to be buying 2 axles. If the axle is not to bad see if it can be straighten. There are also, some sites that might have a used one for sale. Also, don't buy the Durablue axle, it is junk. I had one break just putting on the axle nut. the replacement one bent after the 1st ride, and the warranty said $175 plus shipping to get replaced. Some lifetime warrenty!!!

I will get a lonestar then, they are said to be the only axle with a non-prorated warranty but I'm not getting that now, I was trying to avoid having to buy an axle for the 300ex, but since I have no choice now I will buy a stocker for it and instead of buy me an axle for my 400 now I'll order my White Brothers E-Series slip-on and start saving for my head pipe
