Help, 300 Stalling
#1
My buddy and I were out muddin yesterday and he had some problems with his bike stalling. The problem occurs when the bike gets stuck and you rock it from side to side. The problem shows up right away and has no bearing on the level of fuel in the gas tank. The dealer tells him that this is a common problen on 300 Honda's and there is no cure. His bike is a 1988 300 4x4. We are going to put a carb kit in this weekend but a I am told that there is no float bowl adjustment on this carb, any suggestions would be appreciated.

Sounds like a little water in the float bowl, did you try opening the carb drain? Also water in the air box could be a possible cause. Our 300's don't have a problem like that, so I would not call it a common problem, both are '88 vintage # 1 4x4, #2 2x4. There is a rattle in the engine up high that has been there from day one. This is noticable when you bump the throttle from idle, I've yet to find a early 300 that doesn't have this rattle.
