<< Im not saying that it wil be useless in a drag race, but the automatic takes away from fine tuning through gearing. I agree taht I have seen many 400 scramblers that will haul *****, but they are at least chain drive. You set up a drag quad acording to the length of the track, ground condtions, ect. The shaft drive prevents you from changing sprockets, and therefore gear ratios, this is a severe shortcomming and will hinder the dragstrip potential of this quad. I know that the majority of the buyers will NOT use it for a drag machine, but in almost every situation, save for mud riding, chain drive prevails. Im just saying what I think, it may go over great, just not the quad for me. >>

well if it's not the quad for you ,then you ldn't have so many negative things to say about it. the lt80 isn't the quad for me either but i don't go to every post about them and dog them.i'm sure the new kawi will be able to smoke anything you own now.

If this machine is for real then I want one! I have always liked the idea of the Polaris Scramblers, a fast, comfortable auto with a good ride. The reality was the ergonomics were wrong, the chain drive a pain, and the question of reliability. Put those things aside. Think REALLY fast, great torque, low maintenance, hopefully great ergonomics, and you have the ultimate trail machine. I hope they have a good system worked out so the tranny belt will hold up.

Before you Honda fans slap down 6.5 large on a Green Machine, wait for Honda's new release.
I have heard from a pipe builder in Italy who has been prototyping pipes for Honda, that they have a TRX450EX Sportrax nearly ready for release. It is based on the 400ex frame, that most people is a great chassis, and the CRF450 moddified to suit ATV's, like they did to the XR400 donk when it went into the TRX400EX.
Expect it to weigh the same as a 400ex, be slightly longer, and retail for under 6k.
Hopefuly by Xmas we will know more.
As I have just sold my 60hp 4x4 Scrambler 400, I am looking for a bike that handles, and has some curry on tap ( I like big power - 2001 350hp Ford in 5 speed manual). Raptors handeling suck, 400ex power sucks, Z400 is in its first model year (never buy the first model year), the Predator looks hot, but in the same boat as the Z, and no reverse. The 450Yoshi Suzuki looks the go for me!

Sure this new kawi might be nice for a while but do you actually think it will last as long as a honda. Honda has still got it in durability as far as I'am concerned. I see all kinds of honda 85's and older running strong but do you see any kawi's that are over 7 years old. They all blow up before then normally.
