All that hype for nothing! I guess better safe than sorry. A lot of money has been wasted on something that never happened.

Wasted? Although I see your point; hard to say. For example, is an unused fire extinguisher "wasted?"

While some Y2K scare stories may have been over-hyped, legitimate countermeasures may have been our "insurance policy" keeping our keyboards posting on the ATV Connection, along with sustaining lesser functions in our lives!

Regardless, Happy New Year (or Y2K, if you prefer), and for whatever reason, I'm glad the dreaded Y2K bug chose not to bite!

Tree Farmer,

I agree with you on this one. I know computers pretty well, and if we had not spent all that money then there would have been many more problems than what occured. Thank God, the 3 missiles launched from Russia, had already had there nuc's removed and were just detonated in mid air for no harm to anyone!

You are right it is good to be prepared.
My computer didn't fail it went back to 1980.
No big deal, but I need to be Y2K compliant.

The main waste of money was people buying generators, stocking up on things they don't really need.

I'm snowboarding so I don't really give a damn.

We partied like it was the first day of y2k. We went out in the country woods, over by the quad trails, and it was crazy. People got so messed up that before midnight 2 of them climbed to the top of a tree to "watch the world blow up". Crazy crap, huh?
