Default 2007 rancher 420

hey guys, just bought a 07 420 footshift. got a few questions. first, it makes a sqeaking noise right when you start rolling it, I've read it can be brakes or front diff input seal? anyone know anything about that? and second and more important.. the first day I brought it home it ran awesome. the next day I go to drive it, it starts running poorly and was losing power. it died and I tried to restart it and battery was almost dead. so I load-tested it and it said it was junk so I bought a new battery and now the exact same thing happened.. drove awesome for a day and a half then started losing power and wouldn't start.. is my charging system not working to keep the battery fully charged? bad regulator putting too much power to the battey?? any help is greatly appreciated. thanks guys

what kind of voltage should the battery be producing when revving the engine up? I just put my meter on the battery and revved it up quite a bit and it didn't go above 12.8.. how can I test the regulator to see if that's the problem? If it isn't the regulator, what else is there for a charging system on one of these wheelers?
