Reset the DFI lite that was on SOLID. On restart, no DFI lite. Will run/rev to limiter while in nuetral till the cows come home. Put in Rev or in HI/LO and move slow-- No lite.
Pick up the pace and lite comes back on. Off and restart and the lite resets. I go to KDS connector and short to ground to try and read code and NOTHING. It seems when I do the shut off, then restart they get cleared.
Is there another procedure to read the code without turning key off ? I will let the code set and unplug Ign and let it die so I don't lose the code.. Is this possible ?

Problem found and I hope this helps should it happen to anyone here. Would only happen while moving at speed above 5 mph. The wire harness that goes to the "speed sensor" in the gearcase unit had snapped off the sensor causing the lite. Lift the bed up and the harness is next to the rear shock and goes to the Rt side of the gearcase. Wire colors are : br/blk, rd/gry and blk/br.

 

Sorry, Kawi has it listed in the "bevel gear" case. Item # 21176. Its held in by an 8mm bolt.
