anyone ever ride trails?
We have a 06 3010 Diesel mule. I am curious how many ppl have taken their 3010 mules on the trails. I have some friends that i want to take riding, but they have nothing to ride. Im considering taking the mule out on the trails for them to ride, but am very curious how it would do before i tow the thing 100miles one way to ind out lol

The type of trails you will be riding have more to do with that than anything else. I've done some trail riding in a 610 Mule and had a blast. If there are people riding UTVs on the trails you plan to ride, I see no reason the 3010 wouldn't handle them. It just can't go as fast or handle the deeper ruts that something like a Yamaha Rhino or Polaris Ranger can take.

UTV Trail Riding
Having ridden motocross, hill climb and atv trails for years I've found two real drawbacks from trying to ride trails with a UTV. First, bike and ATV trails are frequently designed to be challenging with dips and dives that cause high centers for longer wheelbased UTVs that are frequently lower ground clearance. The second problem is that many of the bike and atv trails narrow down in places that become impassable for UTVs. I suggest pre-riding the trails you plan to take with the UTV to make sure you can get through. My Kawasaki Mule is great for ranch roads, fire trails, hunting trips, etc., but recognize the limits associated with driving the wider, longer and lower UTV so you don't find yourself walking out.

I have an old mule.....2520 2wd. I treat it like its a 4 wheel drive, and it usually gets me through. You do have to be careful it the deep ruts, just try to ride the high part and dont slow down is my theory 8-) If you have a wench or a buddy that can pull you out go for it. Whats the worst that could happen.......you get stuck, and you get unstuck, part of the fun if you ask me.
