2011 mule 4010 oily air filter??
the farm I work at has an 11 mule 4010, awesome work machine! but I noticed this week when I checked the air filter that It has a fair bit of engine oil in it.
what causes this? really hope there's nothing major wrong with the machine we kinda depend on it.

okay so the shop my boss deals with for stuff he can't fix suggested the crank vent was plugged. and the filter shouldn't be oily. (there a kawi
dealer)
this has a paper air filter like a car and this seems like too much oil for any sort of normal circumstance.
I checked the oil and it looked fine. I located the crank vent hose and it goes into the throttle body. will check this for being plugged in the morning. there's clearly pressure in the case somehow.

if this is normal then its a **** poor design on Kawi's part. the only case vent I could find was not plugged and it goes from the valley between the cylinders to the throttlebody, not the airbox. so the engine should draw in the fumes and oil instead of spitting it all the way to the filter. any quad that belongs to someone I know has case vents and doesn't do this. this means very frequent air filter changes or the install of a foam, cleanable air filter. the inclines it travels aren't ridiculously steep. my quads travel steeper inclines. and aren't effected.
