Default Can the KFX400 go fast?

Im just curious if its worth the trouble. I know with cars you can bolt on and mod all you want. Spent thousands on head work and bolt on turbos but in the end you only have a spunky 4 cylinder. Before I dump thousands MORE into my KFX400 I need to know if it works. Does anyone here own a KFX400 that can keep up with the big boys? Im afraid I may need to trade my bike in on a Predator or perhaps another of the larger 4 strokes on the market.

if you have the money, you can make it very competitive with the larger 4 strokes.

the GT Thunder work i've seen on some of my friends Z400s is just amazing. CT's big bore kit rocks also. not to mention the kits from FST.

Maybe this is my problem. You guys seem to be speaking a foreign language. As many web articles and magazines I have read concerning ATV ing I have never heard of "GT Thunder", "CT's big bore kit", "FST" or least of all "Downside-4g's" I am fresh to the sport but as many Z's and KFX's I see I would think there would be more publicity for these kits you speak of.

Let me start over, Curtis Sparks Racing, Located in Bakerfield CA, www.sparksracing.com. Curtis Sparks makes some of the fastest 4-Strokes around, and the KFX, Z, DVX ect is not expection. The awnser to your question is that the KFX 400 motor can be made very fast. Curtis offers a 436, 486 and I think they are working on a 500 kit for the Z, KFX ect. You should give Curtis a call (661) 872-4343
and see what he can do for your budget. Oh and when I said "downside 4 g's" i ment that it will cost you around 4,000 for some of his fastest motors.

Good luck

Hmm-- I checked the sparks site, and under the Z400 listing it saisd that they were working on a new pipe for it and further down listing 'new' specifications from Suzuki. Deosn't look like this page has been updated since the introduction of the Z.....
